What is Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO)?

GEO is the practice of structuring your website so that AI-powered search engines — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and others — can understand, cite, and recommend your business.

Traditional SEO helps Google rank your pages. GEO goes further. It establishes your business as a clearly defined, authoritative entity: a named organisation with a known address, verified external references, structured service descriptions, and consistent signals across the web.

    Organisation or LocalBusiness entity establishment - We build a complete entity definition for your business using Schema.org vocabulary, including your full sameAs array - a minimum of three authoritative external URLs that independently confirm who you are and where you operate.
    Schema markup across key pages - JSON-LD schema is implemented on your homepage, service pages, about page, and FAQ page as a minimum. Each page gets the appropriate schema type - Service, LocalBusiness, Person, FAQPage - correctly structured and interlinked.
    FAQPage schema from existing content - If you already have FAQ content on your website, we convert it into structured FAQPage schema. This makes it directly available to AI engines as a question-and-answer source.
    Rank Math configuration and Article schema correction - Many WordPress sites using Rank Math Pro are unknowingly applying Article schema to service pages, product pages, and other non-editorial content. This confuses AI engines about what those pages actually are. I identify and correct this using the rank_math/json_ld filter in functions.php.
    Validation - Every schema block is validated using Google's Rich Results Test and the Schema Markup Validator before sign-off.
    Before/after AI engine response comparison - We test your business against relevant queries in Perplexity and ChatGPT before and after implementation, so you can see the actual difference the work has made.
    Completed GEO Audit Checklist - You receive a professional checklist document as your client deliverable - a complete record of what was found, what was implemented, and what was validated.

    GEO is not SEO - GEO and SEO are complementary disciplines, not the same thing. SEO optimises your pages for traditional search rankings. GEO structures your entity data so AI engines can understand and cite you. Both matter. This service addresses GEO specifically.
    It is not a subscription or retainer GEO implementation is a project with a defined start, scope, and deliverable. There is no monthly fee. Once the work is done and validated, it is done.
    GEO is not a guarantee of specific AI responses - We can structure your entity data correctly and validate it — I cannot control what any AI engine decides to cite. What I can do is ensure your website is giving AI engines every possible signal to work with. The before/after comparison shows you what that difference looks like in practice.
